Hello, I am Elise
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Paris, France.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually opened a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to France wasn't part of our long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new tools, new routines, new expectations. Everyday chores felt tougher than they had to be.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and a lot of learning through doing. Yet gradually, routines settled in. We found places that fit us, met other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Created Ikahe Ebecuy Zoc
Most online information was either relocation guidance at a corporate level or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in France.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical insights from living in France
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated only when something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- A tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in France continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information is useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, feel free to reach out.
Cheers,
Elise
